The Club
Bay Colony Golf Club is just that, a Club devoted to the game its enthusiasts deem “the world’s best,” and certainly worthy of such enthusiasm is Bay Colony’s challenging yet enjoyably playable par-72 golf course.
Designed by Robert von Hagge, the course winds its way through a natural setting bordering the Cocohatchee Strand Nature Preserve. Those who play it, whether for the first time or repeatedly, can’t help but be struck by its ever-present beauty; there’s no straining for effect, no design gimmicks, no architectural tricks. Golf at Bay Colony is an unhurried, uncrowded shot-by-shot progression through a notable setting that assures players, whether scratch, intermediate, or beginner, a rewarding and memorable experience.
But there’s more than golf, much more. Bay Colony Golf Club has about it an ambiance that spurns pretentions, that plainly delights in being what it is, a gracious haven sought and appreciated by those for whom its understated elegance is both appealing and fulfilling.
The recently renovated Bay Colony clubhouse affords approximately 26,000 square feet of air-conditioned space that includes a large formal dining room, a restful lounge and bar area, private dining rooms, a grille room, reception areas, a wrap-around terrace, a golf shop and appropriate locker rooms, patio, as well as administrative offices.
