Golf Restoration

During the summer of 2014, the acclaimed Bay Colony Golf Course underwent a strategic and comprehensive restoration. All 18 fairways, greens, tees, bunkers and bulkheads were replaced, remastered, refined and restored. At the same time, two and a half miles of trees and tropical foliage were replaced along the perimeter of the course.

Welcome the New Generation of Extraordinary.

It was with an eye toward preserving the integrity of Robert von Hagge’s original course design, while simultaneously improving the aesthetic beauty, playability, conditioning and technology, that the monumental course restoration was undertaken.

The master mind was completed in its entirety in just over six months in partnership with the original architectural design firm of von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, now Smelek Design.

As one would expect of Bay Colony Golf Club, the masterpiece was completed within budget and without any assessment to members.

"Remastering the Masterpiece"

The Bay Colony Golf Course Restoration

  • Recaptured: The original design and size of greens to increase pin placement and target areas

  • Removed: Multiple concrete cart paths to enhance landing area and aesthetic beauty.

  • Enlarged: Tee boxes for increased flexibility with tee position

  • Added: Alternate set of tees to enhance appeal for junior and senior play

The Bay Colony Golf Course restoration was completed in November 2014, and was fully funded by the Club capital reserves. Nothing of this magnitude has ever been completed before in the history of golf within the same budget and in just over six months. For inquisitive personalities drawn to sophisticated strategic planning and success, there is no finer story than the one written by Bay Colony Golf Club.
